Thank you to everyone who purchased tickets to the Honor the Child Night of Entertainment. We have sold all tickets for this event.

The Open Arms Child Advocacy Center will be holding an “Honor the Children” night of entertainment fundraiser on Friday, September 13, 2019 from 6-9pm at the Holiday Inn Conference Center. The Open Arms Child Advocacy Center serves Mecosta, Osceola, Newaygo and Lake Counties. The agency’s services are designed to improve the outcome of child abuse prosecutions and to minimize the trauma children suffer as a result of the multiple interviews children often have to undergo to tell their story. “Performers from all four counties will provide a night of entertainment, sure to make you laugh and cry”, states Wendy Samuels, Chair of the Board of Directors. The evening will also include a silent auction and raffle.

The mission of the Open Arms Child Advocacy Center is to minimize further trauma to child victims and their non-offending family members by providing a safe, child-friendly facility that can support successful child abuse investigations, promote healing and empower through education. The agency envisions a community where children are free from abuse and trauma. “Children are interviewed by a trained forensic interviewer”, states Amy Taylor, the agency’s executive director. “The interviews are viewed in real time by all the professionals who need to hear the child’s story, and recorded for law enforcement. This means the child will have to tell their story only once”. The agency also provides family advocacy services for the non-offending family members and the child.

Tickets are $40 per person or $300 for an 8 seat table. Tickets can be purchased below.
